About Us

“Pay It Forward”, that’s our motto for the farm and our interaction with the people we meet. If you’ve never seen the movie that portrays this concept, please check it out. The expression “pay it forward” is used to describe the concept of asking that a good turn be repaid by having it done to others instead. What I’ve found in the alpaca community is the willingness to help new alpaca owners gain the knowledge needed to raise happy, healthy and productive alpaca. Our mentor’s have spent many hours with us by phone and one on one to help us gain that knowledge. We couldn’t have made it this far without them specifically and the alpaca community at large.

Our first business concept was breeding and selling breeding stock, until I actually got my hands in the fiber for more than a few minutes. Year one; home with our girls and having them sheared by a “traveling” shearer led us to learn about shearing, skirting and cleaning the fiber for the mill we use to create our mill spun yarns.  Year two; I became more interested in “what can I do with the fiber”? I found a seminar in Colorado that taught me the beginnings of weaving. At that point I really was (and am) hopelessly in love with alpaca fiber. To be able to handle this soft, silky fiber continuously while weaving delighted me. My next thought was, “I should be able to make my own yarn”. On to learning to spin. Now THAT was quite a learning experience. After an intense two day class in beginning spinning, I wasn’t sure I would ever “get it”, but a few years down the road I’m happy to report that I can actually sit at the wheel and spin with some confidence. Now I can spin and weave with my own fiber from my own alpaca!

We still intend to raise and sell breeding stock for future alpaca adventurist. We have some very nice alpaca that I would be happy to visit with you about. Please check out our sales list……there’s something for EVERYONE!
